What’s The Buzz Of Drinking Aloe Vera Juice On TikTok? Is It Good to Go With IT?

Aloe vera juice has gained popularity in recent times for its supposed benefits. Many people claim that it can clear up skin and promote gut health. Many videos featuring the drink have amassed around 1.7 billion views on one of the popular platforms, TikTok.

However, the question that arises is whether these claims are scientifically valid or not. Studies have shown that aloe vera consumption could potentially help alleviate acne, but these are not exhaustive and cannot be taken as a guarantee or something.

The topical of aloe vera has been known to have anti-inflammatory and healing properties, but there is no evidence to suggest that drinking aloe vera juice benefits skin more than other tasteless and unprocessed juices, fruits, and vegetables. As far as gut health is concerned, there are limited studies that suggest aloe vera could help alleviate gastrointestinal symptoms in the short term.

However, there have been no large clinical trials to show reliable benefits of aloe vera for long-term symptom relief or gastrointestinal health. Moreover, overuse of whole-leaf aloe vera juice or aloe latex as a laxative can be dangerous both in the short-term and have serious long-term effects as well, such as a potential link to colorectal cancer.

Therefore, it is best to consult a physician before including aloe vera juice in your everyday routine and not to believe everything you see on TikTok.
